  • What are the dates for the 13th Annual Midwest Women's Herbal Conference?
    The 13th Annual Midwest Women's Herbal Conference is taking place in-person May 24-26, 2024 in Almond, WI. Pre-Conference Workshops & Immersions are happening leading up to the main conference, learn more here.

  • Where will the Conference be held?
    The 13th Annual Midwest Women's Herbal Conference will be hosted at beautiful Camp Helen Brachman, part of COA Youth & Family Services. Camp Helen Brachman is located at 9341 Asbury Rd Almond, WI 54909 (central Wisconsin). The space offers: ~ Privacy and a truly all women setting ~ The opportunity to be fed by Dani Lind of Rooted Spoon Catering, an amazing cook & local food aficionado ~ Female camp directors who support the mission of the Conference ~ Ease for women with mobility needs ~ 200 acres for plant walks & forays ~ Rustic accommodations (shared cabin or camping) *If your questions are not answered here, contact the conference coordinators at herbwomen@gmail.com We are renting the camp and can more easily answer your questions about how the camp will be utilized during our time there!
  • What are the cabins like?
    ~ Cabins are shared sleeping spaces with 10-12 women in each cabin ~ Roommate requests can be made on your registration form & we will make every attempt to honor these requests ~ Bring your own bedding and towels ~ Beds are typical camp bunk beds. Bunk requests can be made on your registration form. ~ Bathrooms and electricity are available in all cabins, shower houses are nearby for those cabins that do not have showers (shower house is about a ~10 min. walk or less from most cabins.)
  • What if I’m camping?
    At Camp Helen Brachman, there is plenty of space for your tent! ~ Bring-your-own everything ~ Bathrooms and shower house in the main camp ~ Please note on your registration form if you’re car camping or bringing an rv/motorhome. We will email you if there are any issues.
  • What will the food be like?
    ~ Meals, from Friday night dinner through Sunday lunch, are included in registration fees. ~ Food is primarily organic, sourced locally and from women farmers who attend the conference, as much as possible. ~ Friday lunch is available at an additional cost for those who register and pay for it before registration closes. ~ Meals will include whole food, vegetarian and vegan options at every meal. ~Meat options will be available at many of the meals as well. ~ People with most dietary preferences (gluten free and dairy free options) should be able to get their needs met during the meals. ~Allergies: if you have extreme dietary needs, it is advisable to bring extra snacks. We will also be reviewing the registration forms for severe allergies, so if you have a severe allergy please note that on your form. We do not need to know about food preferences, as we do take the most common preferences into account. ~ Well water and nourishing herbal infusions will be available throughout the day. Coffee will be available in the morning, between 7 – 10am. ~Camp Helen Brachman is a Nut Free Zone! Please leave any nut snacks at home or in your vehicle.
  • Who can come with me?
    ~ Every person present at the Conference must be a registered & paid participant ~ Babes-in-arms (age 2 and under) will be registered on their mother’s registration form and while there is not a fee for children under 2, please be sure to include them on your form, in case of an emergency.
  • What is the Marketplace?
    ~ The Marketplace will consist of vendors selling handmade and specialty items. ~ Bring cash or a checkbook for the marketplace, as many vendors do not take credit cards. ~ The Marketplace is specifically set up for registered vendors and sponsors. Because of this we ask that women refrain from soliciting outside of the Marketplace. ~ All marketplace vendors must be registered as vendors and participants of the retreat.
  • What should I pack?
    We encourage you to bring what you will need for protection from sun exposure, rain, insects and temperature fluctuations. These might include: Water Bottle - HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE! Sun hat/shawl/parasol Rain Jacket/Umbrella Set of twin sheets/warm blanket/sleeping bag/pillow Swimsuit/clothing (required if you swim, even wild women need to be clothed sometimes) Sweater/jacket/extra layers Sturdy, comfortable walking/hiking shoes Lightweight camp chair Yoga mat Drums, rattles and/or other instruments for fire circle time, etc. Cash/Checkbook for Marketplace (not all vendors take credit/debit cards) Your wooden name tag if a previous attendee Snacks, if you are someone whose needs are not usually met when eating a variety of foods buffet style with ingredients listed. Food must be stored in a cooler/lidded bin, no open food is to be stored in the cabins. Camp Helen Brachman is a nut-free facility so please leave nuts at home.
  • Are there Ride-Shares?
    Yes! Ride-sharing is encouraged as It’s good for the environment and great for building relationships and connections prior to the conference. Sign up as a driver to carpool with conference attendees or add yourself to an existing carpool HERE!
  • When should I arrive?
    Arrival times will be staggered to ensure that settling in is as smooth as possible. Please honor the stated arrival times in the final confirmation letter you will receive a few weeks before the conference and plan ahead to provide yourself enough time to arrive and get settled. The registration area, where you will receive your lodging assignment if you chose the main or remote cabin choice along with other important information, is only open during the times listed below. When you registered, a copy of your registration was emailed to you. Please review your registration to refresh your memory on which options you chose.
  • When do I depart?
    Most women will depart the camp Sunday afternoon, after closing circle around 3:45pm, with the exception of the work exchange team and vendors.
