Shitake Innoculation | Ingrid Daudert | Location: Meadow Tent

Shiitake Log cultivation is an ancient Japanese mushroom farming technique several thousand years old. Come see innoculation as it happens! Once the mycelium is in the log it becomes a living thing and must be nurtured for a year before it is ready to fruit. Once a log starts fruiting these logs will produce amazing shiitake mushrooms for years. Logs and shiitake spawn will be available for purchase ($35 per log).

Dye your own Scarf: Open Dye Pots | Alissa Allen | Location: Barn Kitchen

Drop in for a quick, hands-on, guided experience with mushroom dyes. Choose from an assortment of pre-designed silk and wool scarves or make your own designs using a selection of easy resist techniques. This is a fun way to experience mushroom dyeing and take home a unique and memorable textile. Scarves range from $3-$55 depending on source material and size.

Mushroom Soap Making | Stephanie Baumann | Location: Barn Kitchen

This demonstration will be ongoing and will offer instruction on how to make cold process soap, adding mushrooms to the final product. Mushrooms add a moisturizing anti-inflammatory and antiseptic quality. Everyone will have the opportunity to assist and take home a couple of bars of soap that you can cure at home.

Cooking Demonstration: Mushroom Magic in the Kitchen | Linda Conroy | Location: Farmhouse Kitchen

Join Linda Conroy as she shares some of her favorite mushroom recipes. Samples, recipes and simple cooking tips will be offered during this ongoing demonstration. We will roast mushrooms, turn them into a delicious pate, deep fry them, sample mushroom “crab” cakes, pickled mushrooms and much more!
